You don’t need a detailed plan to get started, and you don’t have to wait for a new year, even though that can be a good time to make changes. What really matters is the truth you want to live. This means being honest about what happened and planning & executing for 2026. Here are six simple questions to help you shape what comes next. No resolutions, just clear prompts to build a framework.
Six Questions to Shape a Better 2026
Where do I show up by default? (Self)
Our habits shape us. What and who are you showing up as, and are you training towards?
What kind of work still feels like play? (Work)
No matter your job or tasks at hand, it's important to have it mirror play. Not to be confused with the notion of doing what you love; this is about the stuff that makes time move differently. That's often a better compass than your goals.
What drains me more than it should? (Energy)
Some things sharpen us. Some just wear us down. Pay attention to the parts of your routine that leave you flat — even when they’re small. It's as simple as that.
What kind of information actually moves me to act? (Attention)
Many of us are overfed and under-focused, endlessly consuming headlines, hot takes, and highlight reels (IG > TikTok). However, all this noise usually does not lead to action. Therefore, it's important to seek valuable information and create space for it.
Who makes me feel expansive — not just seen? (Connection)
Validation is easy to find nowadays. Growth is rarer. The company you keep can determine how you evolve and what version of yourself you wish to become.
Am I moving forward — or just moving fast? (Direction)
Speed can look like progress. But is it? Slowing down doesn’t mean falling behind. It might mean finally noticing where you're headed.
No pressure. Just a bit of thinking.
The questions don’t need to be answered today. These are to position yourself best for success while trying. I have personally been using this framework to keep myself on a path that is challenging and crucial for my growth in life. Wishing you the best for the year ahead!
